Housing and Community Development
  • By January 2007, increase capacity in Planning and Zoning Department to implement the International Codes.    View Projects
  • By December 2006 initiate an update to the Comprehensive Plan to appropriately direct future growth, assess housing needs and consolidate capital facilities and infrastructure plans.    View Projects

Economic and Workforce Development
  • Build secure shipbuilding facilities by 2010 to retain regional dry-dock capacity after the existing facilities were destroyed.    View Projects

Public Health and Healthcare
  • Provide low income dental care to St Charles Parish and surrounding region by mid-2006 to meet additional demand due to an increased need directly related to storm impacts.    View Projects
  • By June 2006 provide behavioral health services to victims of recent hurricanes by increasing crisis case management and outreach capacity by 300%.    View Projects

Transportation and Infrastructure
  • By May 2007 improve evacuation capacity of St Charles Parish.

Flood Protection and Coastal Restoration
  • By 2011 provide adequate flood protection to the west bank of St. Charles Parish in order to mitigate future damages to new and existing housing, industries and infrastructure, including repetitive loss damages.
  • By 2008 provide adequate flood protection to the east bank of St. Charles Parish in order to mitigate future damages to new and existing housing, industries and infrastructure, including repetitive loss damages.
